  • Bhumi Amla/Bhoomi Amla also known as Phyllanthus Niruri (scientific name), is a tropical plant which grows in all parts of the Indian subcontinent in the rainy season.
  • Phyllanthus niruri, also known as Bhumyamalaki, Keezhanelli (Malayalam, Tamil) has been used in Ayurveda, Siddha. 
  • It generally grows wildly without the need for cultivation.
  • Bhumi amla plant is small and thin with small berry shaped green coloured fruit which looks quite similar to Amla (Indian Gooseberry).
  • It is also known as Bhui Amla, Bhumyamalaki, Bahupatra, Tamalaki, Uttama and Keezhanelli.
