    Nutmeg –Coated Creamy French toast
  • One 1-pound loaf unsliced bread or rich egg bread
  • 5 eggs plus 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup half-and-half or milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt, preferably Greek
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Naturevibe Nutmeg Powder
  • Butter or canola oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup or fruit preserves for serving
  • Cut the bread into thick slices of 1 inch and arrange in single layer. Whisk the eggs, egg yolks, and salt together in a medium bowl for 1 to 2 minutes until it smooth. Whisk in the half-and-half, yogurt, granulated sugar, and two teaspoons nutmeg until well blended. Pour the egg mixture over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. When ready to cook, preheat an electric nonstick grill to 350°F. While the dough is frying, stir together the powdered sugar and two teaspoon Nutmeg powder and put in a fine-mesh strainer. Serve accordingly.
